During the Covid-19 pandemic, countries realized that Customs administrations have an important role to play during disasters such as natural disasters, public health emergencies, etc. However, when a disaster happens it is often too late to get ready. This e-learning module was developed to help Customs administrations worldwide prepare for and deal with disasters.
At the end of this module the learner will be:
- Aware of the importance of the role of Customs in disaster relief, including preparedness, response and recovery.
- Motivated to take steps to increase Customs’ disaster readiness
- Able to identify which steps are necessary for their Customs organization to take to increase their disaster readiness.
- Able to explain which other actors play a role in disaster relief (including preparedness, response and recovery).
- Aware of which WCO tools and instruments are relevant to the disaster relief area.
It should take around three hours to complete the course.
This course development is part of the WCO Covid-19 Action Plan and was funded by CCF Korea.
